This week I wanted to try something new for our weekly art piece and I admit that I chose the word imagination so that I could finish this project. I started it a while back and I only had a little left to do, so technically this project still only took 30 minutes. I know it is sort of a slight bend to the rules. I made this superhero cape for one of our favorite little people, Javin. That's why it has a great big red "j" on the back. The inside is lined with a really fun ruler fabric. I imagined him secretly measuring things with it, once he figures out how to do that, he's only 2 after all. Anyways, I could have never imagined how much he would love it. When we gave it to him it was like he had super powers for real because he just started running with his arms stretched in front of him. He did about 50 laps around the house like this. It was awesome! He was moving at lightning speed, but I was lucky enough to get the shot above. I created the cape from a pattern in Alicia Paulson's book, Stitched In Time. I highly recommend this book, it is fantastic, just like her blog. Now let's check out Kalli's project on the bottom. It is very thought provoking. I like reading all these little bits and pieces and I like them all together too. Kalli says, "Imagination is such a broad concept! Your imagination can take you in so many random directions, and I'd been thinking about writing, so I wanted to use randomly found words from other people. I guess I was thinking each thought is like a single blade of grass in a field of millions."
