This is how Rylie's feet look on any given day. In fact, she has never worn a pair of "real" shoes. Who needs shoes when you can't yet walk and it is seventy degrees everyday? But we are heading to Michigan and Rylie will be meeting several of her family members for the very first time. The weather you ask? Well, it is going to be quite a change of pace, a balmy 25 degrees. Luckily, Rylie has these to keep her little toes warm when traveling around this weekend.
Please do send us good vibes for our first airplane trip with the little one. I am a bit anxious about it, but it also seems like a good time to try it out. Rylie is past her newborn fussiness, but not yet mobile, so we are hoping for the best. I am so excited about the idea of meeting my newest niece, Kenzi. She was born on the very same day as Rylie. Ryan and I are definitely getting better with being out and about with Rylie. We do not shy away from going out to eat even though it often involves soothing a bored baby in my left arm and eating with my right hand. But this is a pretty long trip, at least a 4 hour flight to Chicago and then a 3 hour trip in the car, another first for the little babe. On top of the travel it is supposed to be snowing in Chicago/Michigan tomorrow. The good news is that Rylie is pretty content these days to discover new objects and mouth them half to death. So I think if I can fill my purse with baby friendly things that she has never seen before she may just be happy the whole time.
I'll be back here on Tuesday to share all of the details of our first family travel adventure!
