Breakfast & Applique

This morning Ryan, Mike and I woke up and headed to Venice for breakfast al fresco. It was a gloriously beautiful morning at 75 degrees and sunny. Afterwards we wandered around the walk and took in the sights. It's been a while since I have spent an aimless afternoon, so it was much appreciated.

Last night I worked on this lovely little applique tee. It is a brown tee with yellow and gray floral applique. The twigs and leaves are sketched with fabric marker and I backstitched around the flowers with yellow embroidery floss. All in all, a very pretty t-shirt.

Today I was breezing through A Ervilha Cor De Rosa's doll set on Flickr, and man oh man I wanted every single one of those cuties. I love her dolls and her photography. She creates such a fun and playful world. So inspiring.

Stacks & Flowers

I did another painting last night. This one reminds me of stacks of poker chips or a spinner to an old board game. I like the colors and the general circusy fun feeling it gives me.

 

I also worked on this cute, flower applique tee. I backstitched all around the flower and put a green vintage button in the center for good measure. The outlined flowers are hand drawn by me using fabric marker.

Tonight I have a long night of cleaning and organizing ahead of me. Our friend Mike is visiting from Philly this weekend and the house has been quite neglected lately due to the high volume of crafting around here. I've got a few little projects in store to spruce this place up. If I get to them I'll share them here.

Forever 32

Last weekend I found myself in Forever 21 checking out the sale rack. You know it's a recession when you are checking out the sale rack at Forever 21. The cool thing is that I found this really cute jacket for 20 clams. Pretty good. I know that this photo leaves much to be desired, the light is so low today. The rain is definitely on its way. Anyways, this is a cute little three quarter length sleeve, wool jacket with a big collar (there is probably a term for this style) and sweet buttons. I like it a lot, seems the perfect jacket to bridge  winter and spring.

Lovely Little Top

I found this pretty thing on Ebay a few weeks back and deemed it a good deal for $30. It is Anna Sui for Anthropologie, not sure which season though. I love the natural and bright yellow together. It's sort of abstract until you get up close and see all of the fun in detail. Too, too cute!
